SID Congressional Testimony

A major component of the SID’s vision is to serve as a significant force in shaping public policy. Each year as the President’s budget is released, the SID requests a testimony slot to appear before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor-Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies, among others. Traditionally, the SID President has presented the testimony. 2005 marked the 17th consecutive year that an SID representative has appeared before a congressional appropriations subcommittee.

These testimonials are essential to illustrate the need for further skin disease research, as well as highlight some of the advances made to-date.
