The SID has members from several affiliations including academia, government, industry and private practice. 62 percent of members work within academia.
 

International Membership

Although the SID is based in the United States, our membership is worldwide.  Currently, our international membership component consists of 499 members representing 40 countries. The top five non-U.S. countries of membership origin are Japan, Germany, Korea, United Kingdom, and Canada.  Our international members continue to increase each year.
