Patient Art Exhibit

As part of the SID’s commitment to support the Coalition of Skin Diseases, we continue to host the Patient Art Exhibit at the SID Annual Meeting. The first exhibit, titled “Emotions of the Disease,” was on display at the International Investigative Dermatology meeting in Miami, Florida in 2003. The successful inaugural exhibit served as a forum for patient advocate groups to express their personal feelings about skin disease to researchers in both academia and industry. Artwork was in a variety of media, including oil and acrylic paintings, paper collages, crayon drawings and poems.

The exhibit continues to be a moving illustration of the burden of skin disease and an integral part of the Annual Meeting. There are plans to continue the show in 2007 and beyond. The SID is seeking industry and/or private sponsorship of the exhibit so that it may continue to grow.

To find out how you can submit artwork for the exhibit, please contact Becky Minnillo, Executive Director, Development & External Relations, at 216-579-9340 or via email.
