Founded in 1937, the Society for Investigative Dermatology is a professional membership organization serving scientists and physicians working in academic settings, researchers in government and industry, practicing dermatologists, residents, post doctoral fellows, and members of the lay community interested in skin research. The SID has a worldwide membership of 1700 and publishes The Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID)—the premier journal dedicated to research in cutaneous biology.
