Description:
We are seeking a board certified or eligible pediatric dermatologist with demonstrated excellence in patient care, teaching and scholarship for a position at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco. Primary responsibilities will be providing patient care in pediatric dermatology outpatient clinics and inpatient consultation including inpatient call coverage. Clinics will be located in San Francisco at Mount Zion, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay, and at San Francisco General Hospital. In addition to clinical care, applicants should anticipate an active role in teaching, scholarship, leadership and service.
The position will involve a significant educational component via bedside, formal and informal teaching of learners ranging from medical students, pediatric and dermatology residents, and fellows. Scholarship- either clinical, educational or translational- in an area of the faculty’s choosing and participation and presentation at local, regional and national meetings is expected.
Mentoring opportunities for clinical care, scholarship, leadership and teaching are readily available.
Applicant will participate in the administrative operations of the division of pediatric dermatology and will be encouraged to actively serve on divisional and departmental committees.
Requirements:
Board certification in Dermatology and Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Dermatology by the time of appointment. Ability to diagnose and manage complex pediatric dermatology outpatients and inpatients including those with inflammatory, vascular, infectious, pigmentary, congenital and acquired diseases is mandatory. Basic surgical procedural skills and laser surgery are required. Experience working with diverse patient populations is preferred.
